The Adventure Continues - Mont Tremblant

After all the excitement of New York we next took our adventure to Mont Tremblant in Quebec Canada. Mont Tremblant is apparently the number one ski resort in eastern America and I think I have to agree. (Although it was the first ski village I had ever been to!) Honestly it was like stepping into a Christmas card.

Christmas in the Village!

Kerrie carving it up!

ha-ha with a pose like that why wouldn't you put her on the Australian Snowboarding team?

One of the many hills I probably stumbled down.

This photo does not really show the pain I was in and pure exhaustion I felt ha-ha but it was fun pain!

While Kerrie and I hit the slopes on boards Mum went adventuring on a dog sled! Along with her guide Patrick and his trusty Huskies!

Getting the dogs ready.

Since it was the first "white" Christmas we had spent together we went to a French restaurant on Christmas eve. Patrick Bernard's was a cute little house with the most amazing food, service and of course wine! Certainly a great way to spend Christmas Eve when it's cold outside!

Merry Christmas!

Mmmm French Onion Soup!

Mmmm Prawns!

Mmm... Snails... Not! Well Kezz likes them any way!

Madame

The best Champagne I have ever had!! And I guess at $27 a glass you would want it to be!

After 3 days of snowboarding and fun in the snow we next headed to Montreal for some more French fun!

The Adventure Begins New York City

New York New York! Wow what an amazing city! You always hear about how incredible this city is and those of you who have visited the city that never sleeps will agree it's so much more than what any one could ever tell you. I don't think it will matter what type of thing you are interested in you will find what ever it is in NYC!

This trip was also special for me as I was visiting with Mum and Kerrie. After 18 months of living in Canada it was awesome to see them again and to catch up over many bottles of wine. We were in New York for a total of 5 days and loved every moment. From visiting the most iconic sites such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park and The Rockefeller Center to eating hot dogs and chili burgers. New York City was the best place to start our North American Adventure!

New York!

Christmas in New York is just like in the movies, lights, trees, festivities and snow snow snow! Actually it rarely snows like it did when we arrived. The media was calling it The Great Blizzard of 09! "Throw a way the ruler, there's just too much snow" Was the official measurement of how much snow actually fell.

Our Hotel

Drinks, tea service and light fare sums her up pretty well!

Washington Square Park after the Great Blizzard.

Christmas Decorations Galore....

Christmas Shopping in Macy's

On the Subway on the way to the theater!

We went to see Rag Time a Broadway Musical at the Neil Simon Theater. Amazing! Even if you don't like musicals it was an incredible performance.

SNOW!

After the storm the plowing begins!

We stayed in Greenwich Village. Highly recommend it, funky laid back part of the city. Lots of Jazz bars, restaurants and sex shops as it turns out haha

Cafe Reggio the coffee shop with the first ever Espresso Machine in America.

Kerrie built in 1976 takes on the Espresso Machine built in 1902

Bit of Jazz at The Greenwich Village Bistro

Since Greenwich is so well known for great food and gourmet treats we took part in the Greenwich Village Gourmet Food Tour and ate our way around the village.

Mmm pasta! Checking out an old Italian Restaurant.

The Narrowest house in Greenwich if not NYC. Was also once the home of Cary Grant.

The Church from the Movie Doubt.

The Friends Building. You will notice the Restaurant below is not Central Perk but The Little Owl!

A Big Owl in Front of the The Little Owl hoo-hoo

Cheese galore in Murry's Cheese shop

You want some Salami?

Of course it wouldn't be a Lyons Ladies Tour of North America with out lots of food and wine!!

Apparently the Best Chili Cheese Burger EVER!

Bleeker Street Records is a famous Record store in NYC. Has a great selection of Vinyl, CD's and Fat Cats.

A much better view of Kerrie reading the paper!

Central Park

So after being dragged around the shops of NYC I finally got Mum and Kerrie to give the credit card a break and I hit the Ice. Skating in Central Park is something I have always wanted to do. So I strapped on some skates and scooted around the rink trying to avoid bumping in to any one!

Hello!

I received an Owl Beanie (or Tuque as it's called here in Canada) for a secret Santa gift, I decided to wear it around New York and make a serious fashion statement. Hey if Sarah Jessica Parker can wear some of those ridiculous dresses in Sex and the City I can wear an Owl on my head :)

As mentioned Greenwich also had plenty of sex shops and bong stores which had throughly entertaining shop widows ha!

I love New York I can't wait to get back there. And I think it's the kind of city that will be different every time you visit. Our 5 days were so amazing but of course it had to come to an end as our North American Adventure was next taking us to Mont Tremblant. A ski resort in Quebec Canada. Stay tuned as photos of our Beautiful White Christmas and our adventures there are coming soon! .....
