Gayle's Grand Court Yard Renovations!

This posting is more for my family, actually its specifically for Jill and Nanna as my mum, Gayle has been redoing her court yard over the last couple of months. Our extended family live in Victoria and hence have not been able to witness the magnificent transformation, although they have heard about it plenty of times! So Nanna and Jill I hope you enjoy these pictures which I have been promising to send down to you for awhile now. Hope your Christmas day is a merry and enjoyable one and we will speak to you soon. xox Ali and Gayle

New pavers have just been laid...

We chose what we felt was an appropriate colour for the back wall - French Red Wine! :)

The weeding begins...

Mum's traditional thinking pose.

Thinking time is over back to work...

First plants planted...

The Olive Tree.

At last a beer in the court yard

The Hanging Herb Garden.

An out of control flower box...

These bushes should grow higher than the fence in a few months

I guess the old bag deserves a beer after all the hard work she did :)

The end result a blossoming garden!

Merry Christmas from the Sunshine Coast

I do realise it has been some time since I have posted something here on the Rooster site but this is simply because I haven't had much to report on! What can I say I am home and its good. I've been busy studying and working since returning to Australia. There really hasn't been much to report but since Christmas is coming up I thought I should at least wish all visitors to my rambling site a Merry Christmas. I do have to say it is rather strange being back in a country where Christmas is the main event of the year. A time where you can drink and eat more than your usual share, a time to spend more than you usually would and a time when you usually catch up with people you haven't spoken to all year. I have been doing all of the above in my bit to rejoin the western life style. However I am looking forward to Christmas Day as it will be the first time I have seen my sister in over a year and the first time in 3 years my mum, sister and I will all be in the same country at the same time. The plan is to enjoy a typical Aussie Christmas lunch of fresh seafood at a lovely restaurant in Manly. Boxing day will see us participate in another Australian tradition by heading out on Sydney Harbour to see the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. So over all I am anticipating a good Christmas.

I hope all of my new and old friends in Australia and all over the world can at least manage to sit back relax and enjoy a drink this Christmas. Cheers to you all and I would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas.

P.S
I have included a few of my favourite photos of around the coast. It looks like this Summer is shaping up to be a good one!
