Gayle's Grand Court Yard Renovations!

This posting is more for my family, actually its specifically for Jill and Nanna as my mum, Gayle has been redoing her court yard over the last couple of months. Our extended family live in Victoria and hence have not been able to witness the magnificent transformation, although they have heard about it plenty of times! So Nanna and Jill I hope you enjoy these pictures which I have been promising to send down to you for awhile now. Hope your Christmas day is a merry and enjoyable one and we will speak to you soon. xox Ali and Gayle

New pavers have just been laid...

We chose what we felt was an appropriate colour for the back wall - French Red Wine! :)

The weeding begins...

Mum's traditional thinking pose.

Thinking time is over back to work...

First plants planted...

The Olive Tree.

At last a beer in the court yard

The Hanging Herb Garden.

An out of control flower box...

These bushes should grow higher than the fence in a few months

I guess the old bag deserves a beer after all the hard work she did :)

The end result a blossoming garden!

Merry Christmas from the Sunshine Coast

I do realise it has been some time since I have posted something here on the Rooster site but this is simply because I haven't had much to report on! What can I say I am home and its good. I've been busy studying and working since returning to Australia. There really hasn't been much to report but since Christmas is coming up I thought I should at least wish all visitors to my rambling site a Merry Christmas. I do have to say it is rather strange being back in a country where Christmas is the main event of the year. A time where you can drink and eat more than your usual share, a time to spend more than you usually would and a time when you usually catch up with people you haven't spoken to all year. I have been doing all of the above in my bit to rejoin the western life style. However I am looking forward to Christmas Day as it will be the first time I have seen my sister in over a year and the first time in 3 years my mum, sister and I will all be in the same country at the same time. The plan is to enjoy a typical Aussie Christmas lunch of fresh seafood at a lovely restaurant in Manly. Boxing day will see us participate in another Australian tradition by heading out on Sydney Harbour to see the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race. So over all I am anticipating a good Christmas.

I hope all of my new and old friends in Australia and all over the world can at least manage to sit back relax and enjoy a drink this Christmas. Cheers to you all and I would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas.

P.S
I have included a few of my favourite photos of around the coast. It looks like this Summer is shaping up to be a good one!

Drunken Debauchery In Pittsburgh USA!

Dave and I out the front of PNC Park In Pittsburgh!

So the last few weeks have been something of a whirl wind. From finally getting out of Kuwait to complete and utter drunken debauchery in Pittsburgh to flying half way round the world to Hong Kong, where I got straight off a plane and went to work only to hear a few hours later that it wasn't going to work out! Apparently I am to fat to work for their organisation! So rather than stick around and be ridiculed even further, I flew another 7 hours to Brisbane to come home! Wow! Being home is a little strange, its nice to be here the weather is perfect and so far have managed to have a few wines and good laughs with friends. But it still feels a little surreal. I am not sure how long I will be back a few months I guess I really don't know what to do....but never mind all that lets talk about Pittsburgh and what a bloody laugh it was.

What can I say I was very impressed with the friendliness shown to me by the citizens of the US of A not to mention the hospitality displayed by the lads of Pittsburgh. I did all the typical American things like go to a baseball game, had lunch at Hooters (much to Loz's discuss), visited plenty of other seedy bars and of course drank shit loads of beer. Oh and of course the reason for being there (other than catching up with Robb and the boys of course) was to see Ben Harper which was just outstanding. He is amazing live and it was a very beautiful concert in a very beautiful theater and I am truly glad I was able to see him perform, despite the fact I had flown thousands of miles to do so :)

it was an absolutely fantastic week however, thanks to Dave and Gil for being such wonderful hosts and to Josh and Robb for keeping me so entertained. I have posted up the photos below...enjoy. I guess the Ramblings will be on hold for a little while until I work out where this Little Rooster is going to next but don't worry I shall certainly let everyone know if anything exciting comes up....till then...

What a way to be welcomed to the USA, Gil on the grill :)

The most beautiful ball park in the Major League, and home of the pathetic Pittsburgh Pirates. Although they did have win when I was there :)

We had fantastic seats right near first base!

Gil and Dave at the game!

What's this a beer in front of Robb? Never, must be Josh's

So what's your point Dave?

Proud Father of 2 ;) Josh

I know it's corny but its a Yellow School Bus! Just like in the Movies hahaha

The stage before Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals took the stage.

The ceiling of the theater!

My mate Ben looking for me in the crowd

Concert was awesome! Well worth the trip!

Gil, Dave and Josh at the Bar! Where else would you find them?

Dave and Robb attempting to look sober.

Gil is to much of a Celebrity these days to have his picture taken...

I do believe Josh is attempting to chew my ear or my hair? who knows?

The Squirrel Hill Cafe!

Tehehehe a Squirrel!

Squirrels are a nice change to Camels

No Body Knows why Josh has his pants down? Fabulous look nonetheless and image to make all girls dreams come true!

Of course if Josh with his pants down doesn't get you going why not a drunk on the couch? Seriously Dave what's the story with the Flanny?

Robb is rather pleased with him self going for another beer and not having been thrown out of a bar all weekend! (Football games don't count! :)
